This building was built in 1887 by Joseph and Ida Dienger. It was originally a dry-goods grocery store with the family living upstairs. In 1991, the city bought the building, and this is only when the ghost stories came about. Locals say they have seen lights go on and off while the building is empty at night, voices have been heard in the halls, books have fallen off the shelves and a woman's apparitions was spotted beside the staircase. It is believed that the ghosts are that of Ida and Joseph.
