This museum is housed inside the Champion Building, which was built in 1899 as a dry goods store and private residence. Now as a museum, it houses Mexican artifacts from the U.S. Mexican War and features a well-known fish mural painted by a local fisherman in 1906. The building is rumored to be haunted by a young boy and ghostly cat.

  • Little Boy Experience

I had a recent experience with the little ghost boy. It wasn't until I saw this story that confirmed it was a little boy. I knew it was a child though. Recently they attached an event center next to the museum and I attended a friends wedding there just recently. I had been drinking spirits (alcohol) and I've heard you're more prone to experiencing paranormal phenomena while under the influence of spirits. But I was not drunk or seeing things.. I know what I saw. The restrooms are located closer to the museum. I went in to use the restroom and I just happened to be by myself. As I was washing my hands, I could see something out of the corner of my eyes. I thought it was the lights flickering since it happen more than once. I stared to see if it would happen again but it didn't. I finished up and proceeded to wipe my hands and as I was walking out. I saw a shadow of a child. As I proceeded to walk out the shadow of the boy ran. I saw it as clear as day. My first thought was, there's a little boy from the party playing around here. When I saw the door closed shut I was puzzled. I open the door to see if anyone was there but no one was in sight. This was late at night roughly around 1-2 a.m. Just as the party was dying down. It wasn't until the next day I remembered that there was school stories of the museum being haunted and everything else fell into place. I know what I saw. This was the first time I saw a full apparition of a ghost. I am a believer.
