This abandoned house dates back to the 1960s, when a developer and his wife lived there. There are two versions of the horror story that accompanies this home, now desolate, far off a dirt trail along an unmarked dead end. The first version of the story features a cheating husband being discovered, and ultimately murdered along with his mistress by his enraged wife. In the other version, it is the cheating wife who is discovered by her husband, who kills his wife, her lover and himself. Many who have entered the home say it is a terrifying experience with a strong and unshakable sense of dread taking them over when they go inside. One of the most mysterious aspects of the house is that, although it is located on a flood plain and has been without occupants for decades, the home is in very good condition and has no flood damage.

Dayton Lakes is full of houses from the 60's, including a house that is said to be haunted. Unfortunately this is not the house, pretty sure this house has been lived in recently. The actual house is an incomplete three story that had a beautiful intricate stained glass window, sadly it has been vandalised quite extensively as is only a shadow of it's former self. It was being constructed by a man for his wife of many years. Before completion the wife died of cancer and the broken hearted husband abandoned the project. Locals say that at night there would be a glow through the stained glass window, story goes it's the wife admiring her husband's handiwork and waiting for him to return and finish it.
