The Menger Hotel
San Antonio, TX 78205
Considered by many locals and paranormal enthusiasts to be the most haunted site in San Antonio, the Menger Hotel is said to even be frequented by the ghost of Teddy Roosevelt. The former Bull-Moose president would recruit men to join his Rough Riders calvery. Lesser known ghosts are also said to haunt the site. One is the ghost of a young maid who once worked at the hotel and was murdered there; now she haunts the upper hallways. Another ghost is that of a woman who is said to have died of a broken heart in one of the hotel's upper rooms.

Went back in 2018 with some friends and we were walking around taking pictures didn’t know the place was haunted. We’re all gathering in the elevator and im the last one and I felt someone playing with my hair and I turned around so quick nobody was there and I said nope not going in the elevator I’m ready to go.

My best friend and I stayed here for the weekend in Dec 2021. I couldn't sleep so I decided to wonder the hotel. It felt like every time i turned a corner I was being watched. So I went back and got my best friend. We went to get ice and when we turned the corner to go down the hall there was a little girl with a teddy bear walking towards us crying. We stopped to ask her if she was OK and she kept walking and then disappeared. After that we just walked around and when we got near the grand ballroom we heard music and a party going on but nothing was there. We got back to our room and our stuff had been moved around the room. We will definitely be going back.

Took a pic just for fun. Saw what looks like a lady (?) sitting in a chair and a little girl (?) playing on the floor...weird.

walking through the maze of hallways you feel like someone is watching you the entire time. I got to my room and tried to open the door. It gave a little but it felt like someone was pushing back against the door. I stopped trying to open the door for a sec. Gently turned the knob and the door opened easily.
Later while taking a panoramic of the old lobby we captured a picture of what appears to be a young Teddy Roosevelt looking down at us from the balcony.
