This hotel used to operate as a convent and it is now known for its eerie spirits that are said to haunt the place, including those of some nuns. It has been said that a ghost here will assume the form of a living employee to trick people, except it cannot speak. Cold spots and the sound of someone calling out names has been reported here as well, along with the moving and dropping of objects and running footsteps in the ballroom.

me and a couple friends went ghost hunting with our equipment, we were recommended to come to this hotel (we come from california) and we stayed there for a week or so. We encountered tons of activity in the ballroom, we also used our emf readers, and spirit boxes and we found a spirits name we were told her name was veronica she passed away 1954 and thats really all we could find. The 3rd day at the hotel I was heading to bed with my other friend and we felt something or someone lay between us we were both facing opposite direction and i just layed there in fright and my friend said “hey dude you felt that right?” But i did not answer i was in shock. We both decided to ignore it. A few hours later that bathroom door know was rattling hardly and loudly and the most wierest thing me and my friend noticed was that our other 2 friends sleeping beside us in a different bed weren’t woken up. Just us two. It was so loud. To this day, I want to go back so bad with my group and investigate further into this encounter. I totally recommend going here for a spook! Besides the hotel is really cool looking, the staff are really nice, and it is really clean!

  • EERIE FEELING

It was my 1st time staying their with my 2 kids, as soon as you come in at the front desk you can tell it was renovated, but when you walk to youre room you can see & feel the ancient history of the hotel. The truth is people that work their cant say anything bad regarding any ghost or what the customers say cause 1st they work their, 2nd they work their so the review must be a positive one not a negative one. I did see a while back someone who caught a walking ghost their. Now as far as I'm concern, I came in real tired after driving 8 hours and crashed out whether my bed was shaking or moving I cant remember(but something was), cause I was so tired, plus I was visiting family. If you would like a good experience on history or what other people encounter ask them they will tell you.

  • Little girl sighting

The seven members our family group were walking from the swimming pool area towards the San Agustin Ballroom, this past Thursday(11-23-2023) about 11 am to enjoy their Thanksgiving brunch. I was at the rear of the group when I saw a young girl walk towards the right, the ballroom is towards the left. Ava, our 9 y.o. grand daughter, along with Grandson Caleb were in front of the pack. I fully expected for one of her parents to call her out to inform her she was going the wrong way. When I got to the hall, I realized she continued to be at the head of the pack. The young lady that I witnessed turn to the right was nowhere to be found. I remained bewildered to today. Fito Santos

  • I stayed there

My older sister worked there for a couple of years, and she did hear the rumors from her coworkers about ghost. My tia had her wedding there, and my uncle did mention ghosts once again, but I personally never experienced anything. I had to stay at the Posada Hotel for a month due to house issues, and my siblings and I did attempt to find some ghosts but nothing happened. Other than the lights going out due to some bad weather, everything was normal.

  • I too worked at La Posada

I worked at La Posada for 3-4 years in the admin area that is just below the San Agustin Ballroom, it was a common thing to hear heavy objects falling and foot steps running from one side of the ballroom to the other, all while the place was locked and empty. I also heard stories from co workers and personally experienced the copy cat spirit that takes the shape of employees. Twice while using the hotel lobby ladies room and being there by myself I heard the water faucet open full blast and when I came out it was full blast once and the other time it was closed and noise stopped as soon as I opened the bathroom stall door. I never truly fell afraid, mostly bewildered by all this activity. I knew two different ladies (we’ll call them V and R) they had worked at La Posada (at that time) for 33 and 36 years respectively, both had experienced so many things as well as V having seen the apparition of a nun more than once by the stairs leading to the main entrance to the ballroom. R claimed it was different nuns depending on the area of the hotel you found yourself in and that one of the nuns she had seen in many different places throughout the hotel. La Posada is a beautiful, beautiful place, it has much to offer, I am not sure the owners embrace this aspect of it, not sure if the employees are allowed to talk about it, but if you are ever there test your luck and who knows maybe you will at least come out with a very interesting story.

  • Strange experience in the shower

My husband and I had a business trip and stayed at La Posada Hotel. We never known this hotel was known to be haunted. But I was in the shower when I felt the prescence of someone thinking it was my husband playing tricks on me. It seemed like a finger or figure or something making a bulge on the shower curtain I said “I know it’s you” thinking it was my husband. I then opened the curtain quickly from one side and nothing, I open the other side and nothing. I got out of the shower all wet to see and no one was there. I wasn’t scared at the time I didnt know what to think.

  • Apparition

The hotel once housed the nuns serving the cathedral across the street. One night in the building which served as the nunnery, I saw the outline of a nun holding a rosary walking down a hallway and into a wall. I’ve also experienced lights flickering and cold spots in the same wing of the hotel. I worked for the company which owns the hotel for several years and made numerous trips so I’ve been able to experience this on a number of occasions.

  • Weird experience

I had got into bed getting ready to sleep for the night and I pulled the covers the the end of the bed. My dad said something to me and I looked at him to answer. Then my covers had dropped from my bed very strongly and loud. I looked at him and he said "you saw that too?" I was confused and said "how did that happen?" I wasn't aware that the hotel was known to be haunted previous to this. In fact I thought my dad was joking with me when he said it was a ghost. I figured he was just pulling my leg, trying to scare me. Another morning I woke up to my dad saying did you hear that music. The crazy thing is I knew exactly the tune and type of music he was talking about right when he asked if I heard music. It was a sort of flute tone that whispered among the room. We checked our phone s and electronics and saw that nothing was playing music. We also had never heard that tune before. He heard the tune while in the shower and I heard it while laying in bed waking up.
