The Julia Ideson Building, the former public library of Houston now used as a research center, is said to be haunted by Jacob Frank Cramer, who once worked as a long-serving night watchman at the building. Cramer was known to play his violin in the top floors of the building late into the night. Library staff found his dead body on the library's top floor. However, it is said Cramer has not left the building, as many individuals on multiple occasions have reported hearing the sounds of his calming, soft violin solo in the distant halls of the library.
