I moved to Midland in 2009 when I was a teen and when settled in i explored the town with family. This museum was one of the places we went to and when we reached the curtains near the stairs they violently started moving. There was no open windows or anyone else nearby. We went up stairs and a chair started rocking on its own. Definitely spooky things happening here.

I was performing electrical work on the property it was late afternoon and we were preparing the property for September fest...So the job had to get done it was on the North East side of the Home. The front lawn, and there is little to no lighting in that area. I was working diligently to repair an under ground electrical fault, but as I was doing so the sun was setting.. Before I knew it I was working in the dark. No problem I thought to myself I'll just pull the Truck around and shine the head lights it was parked in the circle drive not far from where I was working. As I was making my way back to the work area, I started to get the sense someone was watching me, I wasent alone I had my partner with me as we were finishing up the laughter of children echoed in a dark corner of the property of the house, the laughter broke out into a song of ring around the roses... I looked at my partner and he looked back at me both of us in shock from the sound of singing disembodied voices rang out. I ran to reposition the truck to get a glimpse of the children up passed they're bed time, only to discover the light from the truck revealed that nothing was there.

I worked here doing community service. I was working in an office directly to the left of the main steps that had a desk that would be next to the doorway facing down the length of the hallway. I was matching slides of the art collection and identifying the artist and title entering them into the computer they had. First day they asked if it was alright if I worked alone? Told them it wasn't a problem. I had lived there for years never really knew much about the second floor of the home. I was taken to the office and had been working for a bit. Security came up checked on me, asked if I heard anything. At that point I knew something was up, guard left and I went back to work. Security was supposed to come back before dark and take me to the door. While working I would feel like there was someone watching or near me. I would hear sounds down the hall like a knock or a single step or two but thought it's a hundred something year old home making noise or echo from another part of the building, it was an open gallery down stairs. Well it got dark faster than I knew. Then I clearly heard footsteps, thought well Security is coming to get me and sign out, the steps moved up the hall and stopped. I leaned out to look no one there. I started to feel scared at that point. There was a door that opened and closed that I heard and when I heard running up and down the hall, I was totally freaked out at that point. I bolted out the hall down the stairs to the security desk at the backof the museum in the dark feeling like something was chasing me. When I got to the desk the Security guard was from a different shift and they had forgotten to tell them I was there. They asked if I had been in the offices upstairs. Said yeah, she was like are you okay and apologizing for leaving me there. She ended up signing off on all my service and was asking if I heard the running, told her yes that's why I was at a full sprint through the museum. Anyways that place I will never go upstairs again. There is something there.
